Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is a therapeutic practice that uses vibration, tone, and frequency to support the body’s natural ability to relax and restore balance. Instruments such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes create harmonic sound waves that help calm the nervous system and guide the mind into a meditative state.
Do I need any experience to participate?
No experience is needed. Sound healing is accessible to everyone. You simply arrive, get comfortable, and allow the sound vibrations to support your relaxation and well-being.
What should I bring?
Sonoran Sounds provides yoga mats, blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows. You are welcome to bring a favorite pillow, eye mask, or water bottle if it enhances your comfort.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to relax fully. Layers are helpful, as the body can cool down during deep relaxation.

How long is a session?
Most group sound healing sessions last between 45 and 75 minutes. Private and individual sessions vary depending on your needs and the experience you choose.
Can sound healing help with stress or anxiety?
Sound healing encourages the body to shift into a calmer nervous system state, which may help reduce stress, tension, and anxiety. Many participants report feeling more grounded, centered, and relaxed after a session.
Is sound healing safe for everyone?
Sound healing is generally gentle and well-tolerated. If you have sound sensitivity, epilepsy, or are in the first trimester of pregnancy, it’s best to consult with a healthcare provider before participating.
How often should I attend?
Some people come weekly for ongoing support, while others attend as needed for relaxation, emotional release, or mental clarity. Your body will guide you toward the rhythm that feels right.

Getting settled
You'll choose a comfortable spot and settle onto a yoga mat with blankets and bolsters. Once you're comfortable, you'll be guided to close your eyes, breathe deeply, and allow your body to relax.
Immersion in sound
As the session begins, you'll be surrounded by the soothing tones of crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other vibrational instruments. These sounds create gentle waves that help quiet the mind and support deep relaxation.
A meditative state
Most participants naturally drift into a meditative or dreamlike state. The mind softens, the breath deepens, and the nervous system begins to reset. You may feel warmth, tingling, spaciousness, or simply a sense of peace.
